whut parents are for.
let's just say i came back home one night at 330am. There my dad was, patiently waiting for me on the couch. Should have saw it coming cos i smsed saying ill be back before 2 am. Expecting a long lecture, i just sat down on the couch opposite him. But even though it was 330am, he sounded wide awake with something he said:
"Im tired of lecturing you. You're big enough to think for yourself. But as a parent, im obliged to keep reminding you whenever you seem to forget (acting like a muslim). Kids are like kites flying in the air, with parents on the ground holding the end of the line. The kites slowly fly away with the wind, and parents have a duty to reel in their kids. Otherwise, they'll be gone with the wind."
My dad was right. My dad with his set of old fashioned values.
I guess i haven't been acting the way a muslim should be. Havent been a good example to my other siblings as well.
its time i face the tribulations of being a young muslim.
and i hope i'll do well.
